BUSINESS COUNCIL OF DOUGLAS COUNTY UNITED IN PROGRESS
Business climates can change frequently due to economics, regulations, legislation, public sentiment and other variables. The members of the Council contribute millions of dollars in tax revenue annually to the local economy and account for thousands of jobs in Douglas County.
For 30 years, our members have supported and served because they believe in a united community, weekly updates with a CEO briefing of meetings, county actions and votes, agenda's and much more. We invest in Conferences, educational meetings, membership meetings, understanding critical community issues and needs, public participation, and creation of local programs and sound decision making.
We work with all business owners to address the preservation of the economy, build jobs, inspire a sustainable environment through action and create jobs and quality of life for generations to come while maintaining our rural character.

Mission and Purpose
The Mission of the Business Council of Douglas County is to assemble, organize and coordinate the talents and resources of the business and professional leaders of Douglas County for the purpose of assisting the public sector in the identification, examination and successful resolution of area wide issues.
Our membership is intentionally diverse to assure that no one special interest group dominates and that it represents Douglas County Business Leadership. The Council’s purpose is not to attract new business although we assist those sister agencies, but on ensuring the climate in Douglas County is conducive to economic diversification and that the fiscal policy is sound and cost effective, as understood by the businesses that locate and thrive here. In working with leadership, our process allows for thoughtful community decision rather than defensive reaction.
